Iliad 24: 299-301

τὴν δ' ἀπαμειβόμενος προσέφη Πρίαμος θεοειδής:

ὦ γύναι, οὐ μέν τοι τό δ'γ' ἐφιεμένῃ ἀπιθήσω.

ἐσθλὸν γὰρ Διῒ χεῖρας ἀνασχέμεν. αἴ κ' ἐλεήσῃ:

Then in answer spake unto her godlike Priam: "Wife, I will not disregard this hest of thine; for good is it to lift up hands to Zeus, if so be he will have pity."
