Iliad 21: 380-381

ἀθάνατον θεὸν ὧδε βροτῶν ἕνεκα στυφελίζειν:

ὡς ἔφαθ', Ἥφαιστος δὲ κατέσβεσε θεσπιδαὲς πῦρ,

So spake she, and Hephaestus quenched his wondrous-blazing fire, and once more in the fair river-bed the flood rushed down.
